This Privacy Policy explains what data we (the operator of Docster) collect when you use docster.vercel.app and how we use it.
Data we collect
- GitHub account: when you sign in with GitHub OAuth, we receive your GitHub user ID, username, and email. We store your GitHub user ID to enforce plan limits and link your subscription.
- Repository contents: when you generate documentation, your repository code is read only during generation to produce the output. It is not stored on our servers.
- Usage: we record generation counts and timestamps (not the generated content) to apply daily limits.
- Billing: payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details — only your subscription status (active / canceled) and plan.
- Analytics: we use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics (page views and performance) with no cross-site tracking and no advertising cookies.
Third-party processors
We share the minimum data required with these providers to operate the service:
- GitHub — authentication and repository access
- Anthropic (Claude API) — processes repository code to generate documentation
- Stripe — subscription billing
- Supabase — stores account, usage, and subscription records
- Vercel — hosting and aggregate analytics
How we use your data
Solely to provide and operate the service: authenticate you, generate documentation, enforce plan limits, and manage billing. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. We do not use your code or data to train AI models; repository content sent to Anthropic's API to generate documentation is not used by Anthropic to train its models, per their commercial API terms.
Retention
Account, usage, and subscription records are kept while your account is active. Repository code is never persisted. You can request deletion of your account data by contacting us.
Your rights
You may revoke Docster's GitHub access at any time from your GitHub settings, cancel your subscription anytime from your Docster dashboard, and request access to or deletion of your stored data.
